Two weeks ago I was informed that CDHH had not yet heard from our school district in regards to contracting for AJ to continue to attend toddler group...through the summer. After many phone calls, and many different stories, with yesterday's being the very best that just made me laugh otherwise I would have bawled, it is still up in the air. I was supposed to hear back from the district yesterday. I did not.
AJ turned 3 on Sunday, so this week begins (or should begin) the school district's contract. Except there isn't one....
In addition to this, we still have not received a final draft of the IEP. AND, the IEP coordinator is off for the summer. I found that out by calling her voicemail. When the district employees say "Emmmmm, yeah, you should have had that by now," its not a good feeling. Which technically means nothing is set in stone for AJ with CDHH or Lowell. Did I also mention that AJ's current therapy staff need copies of the IEP to help us convince insurance to cover summer therapy services at the clinic?
While we'll spare you all the details, the last few weeks have not been fun. We thought at least we had this school thing taken care of. Here we though we had won the battle. Silly us.
AJ is attending group today. I will be stopping in the billing office to see what the latest story is. I'm not holding my breath though....
Yuk! Yuk! Yuk!
ReplyDeleteI hope someone gets their act together...
How frustrating!!!
